This dream began with Chris when he was 28 and working through a book called "Designing Your Life" by Bill Burnett and Dave Evans. He dreamed of making an impact in the corporate world and quickly transitioning to regenerative agriculture in an urban setting. He dreamed of a farm that has a mentorship program for local high schoolers to experience how rewarding it is to taste food that you have grown. He envisioned a place to run a corporate offsite center for company retreats, executive sprints, and church retreats.

He met Bethany on Bumble just before his first planting season. Bethany had never grown anything (although she has a fiddle leaf tree she has happily kept alive for 4 years). Chris opened her eyes to homegrown food and the incredible results. Together, they developed a vision of owning land in the East Bay. This land will be multi-use. It will grow healthy fruits and vegetables for Oakland residents. We hope to have an executive boardroom and training program for companies to come for offsite sprints. Bethany hopes to love people by helping them find their joy in their work. Finally, we hope to have a mentorship program for Oakland kids to learn about the land and experience how much better homegrown food tastes.
