Whats happening on the farm this month?

Oakland has had a wet and cold winter. One interesting thing Chris learned at farm camp was that farmers do not wet years... Wet years leads to flooding and crops dying. This year, it delayed our planting. But as of tonight, all the beds are planted. The roses have to be the most incredible yield so far. Just look at these beauties! If only you could smell them through the screen! We have 7 beds in the garden this year. Bed 1: The nightshades: peppers, tomatoes, and eggplants

Bed 2: Carrots and beets

Bed 3: Onion, garlic, and radish

Bed 4: Cucumbers, pumpkin, more radishes and beets

Bed 5: Edamame and Zucchini lettuce

Bed 6: Tomatoes: both slicing and eating, with basil and radishes

Bed 7: Artichokes, sauce tomatoes, and cucumbers

Flower box: mystery flower seeds, sunflowers, cantaloupe, marigold
The blueberry bushes are giving handfuls by the day. The potato patch is almost ready to harvest.
